Game Freak, Inc. is a Japanese video game company that makes video games for Nintendo game consoles. It is most well known for developing the Pokémon series of role-playing video games.

Game Freak was originally a gaming magazine created by Satoshi Tajiri and Ken Sugimori in the 1980s. On April 26, 1989, Tajiri and Sugimori started a video game company with the same name.[2][3]
