Deutsch: Südwestansicht des Wiener Musikvereinsgebäude an der Adresse Karlsplatz Nr. 6 / Wiener Musikvereinsplatz Nr. 1 im 1. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Innere Stadt. Das Gebäude mit zwei großen Konzertsälen und im Stil der „hellenistischen Renaissance“ wurde nach Plänen des Architekten Theophil Hansen ab 1867 errichtet und am 6. Jänner 1870 mit einem feierlichen Konzert eröffnet. Anfang der 2000er Jahre wurde das Gebäude unterirdisch in Richtung Künstlerhaus nach Plänen von Wilhelm Holzbauer um rund 30 Millionen Euro erweitert. Am 20. März 2004 wurden die vier dabei errichteten Veranstaltungssäle für das Publikum geöffnet. |
