Eugenio Scalfari

Eugenio Scalfari (Italian: [euˈdʒɛːnjo ˈskalfari]; 6 April 1924 – 14 July 2022) was an Italian journalist and politician. He was editor of the news magazine L'Espresso. He was a member of the Chamber of Deputies from 1968 to 1972 as a member of the Italian Socialist Party. He was a co-founder of the newspaper La Repubblica and its editor from 1976 to 1996. Scalfari was born in Civitavecchia, Italy. He also wrote for Il Mondo and L'Europeo.

Scalfari died on 14 July 2022 in Rome, Italy at the age of 98.[1]
