There are no major roads on the island. There also are no banks or restaurants. A general store has basic supplies, while a laundromat has washers, dryers, and showers for people living in the village. There is a medical clinic for basic health care found in the same building as the store and laundromat. Diomede is the only place people live on the island. Mail is delivered to the island by helicopter.
