Dolores Conchita Figueroa del Rivero Anderson (January 23, 1933 – January 30, 2024), better known as Chita Rivera, was an American actress, dancer, and singer, who was best known for her roles in musical theater. She was the first Hispanic woman and first Latino American [1] to receive a Kennedy Center Honors award (December 2002). She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009.[2] Following a brief illness, she died in New York on January 30, 2024, one week after her 91st birthday.
