Cast Away is a 2000 American adventure drama movie about a FedEx employee (Tom Hanks) surviving in an uninhabited island after the plane crashed in the Pacific Ocean. It was directed by Robert Zemeckis. It gained positive reviews from critics and holds a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.[2] At the 73rd Academy Awards, Hanks was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role, but lost to Russell Crowe for Gladiator.[3]
