The Barelvi movement also known as Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat is a revivalist movement in the Sunni Islam in South Asia.[1] It is influenced by Sufism and named after Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi, a Hanafi Islamic scholar from Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh.[2][3][4][5] People connected with the movement follows Hanafi and Shafi’i schools of jurisprudence and Maturidi and Ash’ari school of theology.[1]
