Balakovo (Russian: Балако́во, IPA: [bəlɐˈkovə]) is a city in Saratov Oblast, Russia. It is on the east bank of the Volga River. It is about 131 kilometers (81 mi) northeast of Saratov. Population: 199,690 (2010 Census);[6] 200,470 (2002 Census);[15] 197,391 (1989 Census).[16]
