Area codes 209 and 350 are area codes for California. Area code 209 was one of the initial area codes created in 1947. It used to cover the entire state, but after being split multiple times, it now covers the central section of the state, specifically in the Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Mariposa, Merced, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne counties. It was overlaid by 350 on November 28, 2022.[1]
