Adenau is a town in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located within High Eifel. The population in 2020 was about 3,000. There is a volcano east of the town. A rock festival Rock am Ring is held each year. In the Middle Ages, Order of Saint John was located in the town. This was a German Protestant group of knights. The town is also called Johanniterstadt.
