3rd FIFA Confederations Cup, held in Saudi Arabia / From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
1997 FIFA Confederations Cup was the first FIFA Confederations Cup tournament. The tournament had previously been played in 1992 and 1995 as the King Fahd Cup. It took place in Saudi Arabia from 12 to 21 December. Brazil won the tournament after defeating Australia. Czech Republic got third place.[1]
