Upton Sinclair

Upton Sinclair Jr. (20.9. 1878 – 25.11. 1968), bio je plodni američki pisac koji je napisao preko 90 knjiga u brojnim žanrovima, a danas se smatra jednim od najboljih istraživačkih novinara u američkoj historiji. U svoje vrijeme je zagovarao socijalizam i iskazivao simpatije prema anarhizmu. Stekao je veliku popularnost u prvoj polovici 20. vijeka, za što posebnu zaslugu ima njegov roman The Jungle iz 1906. godine, koji se bavio stanjem američke mesne industrije i potakoao donošenjem Zakona o čistoj hrani i lijekovima i Zakona o mesnoj inspekciji godine 1906.
