Sam Shepard (5. novembar 1943. - 27. jul 2017.) je bio američki dramatičar, glumac, televizijski i filmski režiser. Poznat je kao autor nekoliko kratkih priča, eseja, memoara te kao dobitnik Pulitzerove nagrade za dramu kojom je 1979. ovjenčan za tekst Buried Child. Široj publici je najpoznatiji po tumačenju pilota Chucka Yeagera u filmu The Right Stuff (1983).
