Gastrin je proteinski hormon koji sintetišu i sekretuju G ćelije (gastrinske ćelije) želuca. Difuznog je dejstva, indukuje sekreciju želudačne kiseline i stimuliše pokrete želuca. NJegovo postojanje je privi predložio 1905. Britanski fiziolog Džon Sidni Edkins,[1][2]. Gastrin su izolovali 1964. Gregori i Trejsi u Liverpulu.[3]
