Caacupé je grad u centru Paragvaja, od 19,131 stanovnika[1], koji se nalazi u Departmanu Cordillera u kom je administrativni centar.[2]

On je i administrativni centar istoimenog distrikta koji ima 57,682 stan.[3]
Grad se prostire u kotilni Masiva Altos[4], udaljen 54 km jugoistočno od glavnog grada Asuncióna.[2]
Osnovan je za Vicekraljevstva Peru 14. aprila 1770. od strane tadašnjeg guvernera Paragvaja - Carlosa Morphia.[5]
Ime Caacupé dobio je od riječi caaguycupé što na Jeziku Guaraní znači Druga strana planine.[4]
Odkad je 1765. podignuta neobarokna katedrala, postao je mjesto hodočašća[6] i neformalna religijska prijestolnica zemlje.[2]
Okolica je ratarski kraj u kom se uzgaja duhan, šećerna trska i naranče, koje se prerađuju u gradskim tvornicama. Od 1943. u njemu djeluje Nacionalni agronomski institut, koji ima i veliku eksperimentlnu farmu za istraživanje. [4]
Autoputom PY02 povezan je sa Asunciónom, tako da je zbog šuma i omiljeno izletište građana toga grada.
