He haes been the Member o Pairlament (MP) for Airdrie & Shotts syne the general election in Mey 2015, winnin the seat wi a majority o 8,779 (19.82%).[1] Despite losses, he managed tae hauld the seat in 2017, wi a majority o 195 (0.5%). He wis defeatit at the 2024 Unitit Kinrick general walin.
