The Libertador Municipality is ane o the 18 municipalities (municipios) that maks up the Venezuelan state o Aragua an, accordin tae the 2011 census bi the Naitional Institute o Statistics o Venezuela, the municipality haes a population o 114,355. [1] The town of Palo Negro is the shire toun o the Libertador Municipality.[2] The municipality is ane o a nummer in Venezuela namit "Libertador Municipality", in honour o Venezuelan independence hero Simón Bolívar.

This amunts tae 5.3% o the state's population.[3] The municipality's population density is 1,683.08 inhabitants per square kilometre (4,359.2/sq mi).[4]
The mayor o the Libertador Municipality is Gonzalo Díaz, re-electit on 31 October 2004 wi 47% o the vote.[5][6] The municipality is dividit intae twa pairishes; Caipital Libertador an San Martín de Porres (creatit on 30 Januar 1995).[2]
