The Gagauz leid (Gagauz dili) is a Turkic leid, spoken bi the Gagauz fowk, an the offeecial leid o Gagauzie, Moldovae. Thare are twa dialects, Bulgar Gagauzi an Maritime Gagauzi. This is a different leid frae Balkan Gagauz Turkish [1].
Oreeginally, it uised the Greek alphabet. Beginnin in 1957, the Cyrillic alphabet wis uised. The current Gagauz alphabet is a Latin-based alphabet, modelled efter the Turkish alphabet, wi the addition o twa letters: ‹ä› tae represent the soond o [æ] (as in Azeri) an ‹ţ› tae represent the soond [ts] (as in Romanian/Moldovan).
