Namit as Las Mercedes Airport in 1968 it wis later renamit Augusto César Sandino Internaitional Airport durin the Sandinista regime in the 1980s an again in 2001 tae Managua Internaitional Airport bi then preses Arnoldo Alemán. Its name wis chyngit ance mair in Februar 2007 tae its current name bi Preses Daniel Ortega in honor o Nicaragua's naitional hero, Augusto César Sandino.[1]
