Lawer Shabele (Somali: Shabeellaha Hoose) is an admeenistrative region (gobolka) in soothern Somalie. Till 1984, when the regions wur reshaped, it wis pairt o the lairger Benadir region an its caipital wis Mogadishu, but is nou Marka.
Shabeellaha Hoose is bordered bi the Somali regions o Banaadir, Shabeellaha Dhexe, Hiiraan, Bay an Middle Juba an the Indian Ocean. Efter Mogadishu, this is thocht tae be the region wi the maist population in Somalie.
Lawer Shabele is named efter the Shebelle River, which passes through it.
Linguistically, the region is host tae a considerable number o dialects o the Somali leid. The majority o the population speak the Digil version o the Af Maay dialect as spoken in the Dhoobey aurie. An aa spoken in the region are Af Jido, Af Garre, Af Tuni, Af Reer Marka an Af Reer Barawe as well as Staundart Somali an the Af Maay dialect o the Mirifle.
