Its caipital is the ceety o Perugia. The province covered aw o Umbrie till 1927, when the province o Terni wis carvit oot o its soothren third. The province o Perugia haes an aurie o 6,334 km², an a total population o 606,413 (2001). There are 59 comunes (Italian: comuni) in the province.[1]
