Pitkyarantsky Destrict (Roushie: Питкяра́нтский райо́н) is an admeenistrative destrict (raion), ane o the fifteen in the Republic o Karelie, Roushie.[1] Municipally, it is incorporatit as Pitkyarantsky Municipal Destrict.[3] It is locatit in the soothwast o the republic. The aurie o the destrict is 2,300 square kilometer (890 sq mi). Its admeenistrative centre is the toun o Pitkyaranta.[2] Destrict's population: 19,895 (2010 Census);[5] 10,497 (2002 Census);[8] 27,177 (1989 Census).[9] The population o Pitkyaranta accoonts for 57.4% o the destrict's total population.[5]
