Muggia is the last an anerly flap of Istrie still in Italian territory, efter the dissolution o the Free Territory o Trieste in 1954.

S. Michele, Mt. Zuc an Monte d'Oro, that dominate ower a vast landscape o Italian an Istrie coast, is characterizit bi a rich sub-continental vegetation o baith Carsic an Istrian type.
It haes a mairch crossin, kent as San Bartolomeo, wi Slovenie an the extreme wast o the comune at Lazaretto. The Slovenie mairch crossin is cried Lazaret in Koper municipality.
