Betta /ˈbɛtə/ is a lairge genus o smaa, eften colourfu, freshwatter ray-finned fishes in the gourami faimily (Osphronemidae). The type species is B. picta, the spottit betta.[1] Bi far the best kent Betta species, houevir, is B. splendens, the Siamese fichtin fish.[2][3]
