ਡਾਇਓਡ ਇੱਕ ਬਿਜਲਈ ਪੁਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਦੋ ਟਰਮੀਨਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਦੀ ਖੂਬੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਸਿਓਂ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਦਕਾ ਇਹ ਏ ਸੀ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਡੀ ਸੀ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਚ ਪਲ਼ਟਣ ਲਈ ਤੇ ਰੇਡੀਓ ਚ ਰੇਡੀਓ ਸਿਗਨਲ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਡੋਲੀਸ਼ਨ ਚ ਬਦਲਣ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅੱਜਕਲ੍ਹ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਸਿਲੀਕਾਨ ਦੇ ਡਾਇਓਡ ਵਰਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
