Et svømmeanlegg er et badeanlegg tilrettelagt med svømmebasseng for mosjon, trening og konkurranser i svømming, men også undervisning og opplæring. En del svømmehaller er også utstyrt med sviktbrett og faste plattformer for stup. Det er ikke uvanlig at det ligger en badstue til slike anlegg. Det kan også være lagt inn boblebad, vannsklier og solarium. Anlegg tilrettelagt for et bredere badetilbud, kalt badeland eller fritidsbad, har ofte flere bassenger, og gjerne strandkant og kunstige bølger.

Bislet bad i Oslo ble åpnet i 1920 og ble Norges første offentlige svømmehall.[1]
Vanlige lengder for bassenger er 25 meter. Disse nyttes til kortbanekonkurranser. Mange bad har likevel kortere basseng, og da gjerne 16,67 meter. Disse nyttes ikke til offisielle svømmekonkurranser. For langbanekonkurranser kreves bassenglengde på 50 meter. Tilgang til svømmeanlegg er svært viktig for alle svømmingens idretter.[2]
