Kåfjord (samisk Njoammelgohppi, kvensk Kaavuono) er ei bygd og en grunnkrets ved Kåfjorden i Alta kommune, 15 km vest for kommunesenteret. Grunnkretsen har 149 innbyggere (2012).[1]
Veien opp til nordlysobservatoriet på Haldde starter i Kåfjord.
Ytterst i Kåfjorden, ved Eide, er det store felter med bergkunst, som viser at det var bosetting her for mer enn 4000 år siden.[2]
Kopperverket i Kåfjord ble drevet i periodene 1826-1878 og 1896-1909. Den første perioden var med engelske eiere, den andre perioden med svenske.

Under andre verdenskrig hadde Kåfjord tyskernes hovedkvarter for all krigføring i Nordvest-Russland, «Gebirgsjäger-Korps Norwegen». Slapskipet «Tirpitz» lå oppankret her fra mars 1943 til oktober 1944 som en trussel mot konvoifarten fra Skottland til Murmansk, bare avbrutt av en ekspedisjon til Svalbard i september 1943.[3] Skipet ble skadet etter en miniubåtoperasjon og flere flyangrep støttet av norske spioner, og ble kort tid senere senket i Tromsøsundet.[4]
Tirpitz Museum er et krigsmuseum som ligger i Kåfjord utenfor Alta og omfatter historien til det tyske slagskipet «Tirpitz».
Museet ble åpnet sommeren 2005 av Even Blomkvist og har en av verdens største samlinger av Tirpitz-fotos samt en omfattende samling av gjenstander fra Tirpitz. Even Blomkvist fikk Alta kommunes kulturpris i 2005 for sin innsats gjennom mange år å ha samlet viktig kulturhistorisk materiale for Alta og Finnmark.
