Via Sacra (latin: «den hellige veien») befinner seg i Forum Romanum i Roma. Via Sacra var hovedgaten i antikkens Roma. Det var først og fremst en prosesjonsvei som gikk fra Kapitolhøyden, via en del av de viktigste religiøse, førkristne stedene i Forum Romanum, hvor den var på sitt bredeste, og til Colosseum.[1]

Veien var en del av den tradisjonelle ruten til triumftoget som begynte i utkanten av byen og fortsatte gjennom Forum Romanum. På 400-tallet f.Kr. ble veien støttet av en struktur eller underlag for å beskytte den mot regnskyll. Senere ble den steinlagt og under styret til keiser Nero ble den kranset med søyler.
Veien var lokaliseringen av mange hendelser, gjerninger og ugjerninger i romersk historie, høytidelige festivaler, storslåtte triumftog av seierrike generaler, og de daglige folkemengdene som samlet seg for å prate, spille med terninger, drive forretninger, og en del prostituerte samlet seg i skyggene på utkikk etter mulige kunder.[2]
