Tofterøy, offisielt Toftøya, er ei øy i Øygarden kommune i Vestland.

Øya har et areal på ca. 7,8 km². Det er noen hundre fastboende i tillegg til mange hytter og fritidsboliger på øya. Tofterøy knyttes sammen med Sotra ved Tofterøybrua som stod ferdig i 1975. Før dette hadde det vært fergesamband over Austefjorden siden 1960.
Innbyggerne på Tofterøy har i århundrer livnært seg på jordbruk og havbruk, og landskapet bærer fortsatt tydelig preg av dette. Tofterøy skule var øyas eneste skole, men denne ble nedlagt i 2012.
Toftøya er den offisielt godkjente og anbefalte navneform av Statens kartverk, mens Toftarøyna er godkjent, men ikke tilrådd.[1] Navneformen Toftøyna har også blitt foreslått, men er ikke godkjent.[1] I 2014 ble det reist navnesak om navnet, hvorpå kommunestyret i Sund vedtok Tofterøy som høringsuttalelse til Toftarøyna som var det nye forslaget til Statens kartverk.[2]. Statistisk sentralbyrå (SSB) som navngir grunnkretser bruker formen Tofterøy slik «Tofterøy-Vardøy-Viksøy»[3]
