Tiaret (arabisk: تيارت , Tiyāra, tamazight: ⵜⵢⴰⵔⴻⵜ Tyaret; også Tihert, Tahert eller Tehert) er en by og kommune i det nordlige Algerie som er administrativ hovedstad for en provins med samme navn. Folkemengden i kommunen var på 201 263 innbyggere ved folketellingen i 2008, hvorav 178 915 bodde i sentralbyen.[2] Flyplassen i byen heter Abdelhafid Boussouf Bou Chekif Airport[3].

Allerede i romertiden var det et romersk støttepunkt her, kalt Tingurtiae.[4]
Mellom 788 og 909 var Tiaret sete for rustamidenes imamitter og et blomstrende sentrum for transsaharahandelen. Den historiske bosettingen var imidlertid ni km vest for det moderne Tiaret. Byen nøt godt av flere vannkilder og var godt beskyttet både ved sin naturlige beliggenhet og ved sin bymur. Den hadde fire byporter.[5]
I 1863 ble det moderne Tiaret grunnlagt.
