Padise er en tidligere landkommune helt vest i Harju fylke i Estland. Kommunen hadde cirka 1 740 innbyggere og et areal på om lag 367 km². Kommunens administrasjonssenter lå i Padise med 418 innbyggere. En mindre landsby er Harju-Risti. Kommunen har kystlandskap med bølgende åser fra istiden.

I eldre tider gikk Paldiskibukten helt inn til Padise, og det var en handelspost med veianlegg her i forhistorisk tid. En kilometer sør for klosteret ligger en bygdeborg som vitner om stedets betydning.
I Padise kommune ligger Padise kloster fra 1305 eller 1310[3], som er et tidligere munkekloster. Det ble grunnlagt av cistercienserne, som hadde eid land i området siden 1220. De valgte trolig stedet på grunn av de gode mulighetene for fiske her i Padise-elva og Paldiskibukten i nord.[4]
I 1558 gjorde den lokale stormesteren for Den tyske orden klosteret om til festning, og bortviste munkene. Under den Livlandske krig herjet russiske styrker kommunen i fire år. Sverige videreførte klosteret som festningsbygg, og Gustav II Adolf ga det til Thomas von Ramm i 1662. Denne familien restaurerte bygningene som gods, men hele anlegget brant ned til grunnen i 1766. Dagens gods er det anlegget som ble oppbygd av von Ramm-slekten etter denne brannen.[5] Godset med restene av klosterbygget ble malt av den internasjonalt anerkjente kunstneren Aleksander Möldroo (1902–1991) etter hans opphold i Stalins arbeidsleire, i 1963.[6]
