Mtskheta (georgisk: მცხეთა) er en by om lag 20 kilometer nordvest for Tbilisi i Georgia. De eldste arkeologiske funna i byen er datert til før 1000 f.Kr., og den er dermed en av landets eldste byer. De historiske bygningene i Mtskheta står på UNESCOs verdensarvliste.

Mtskheta er administrasjonssentrum i regionen Mtskheta-Mtianeti.
Svetitskhoveli-katedralen i Mtskheta er Georgias viktigste kirke. På ei høyde nær byen ligger Jvari-klosteret, som er et annet viktig eksempel på tidlig georgisk arkitektur.
