Den gamle kirken, som var en langkirke i tre fra 1899 (tegnet av Victor Nordan), brant i oktober 1999.
Grunnsteinen til den nye kirken ble lagt ned av biskop Rosemarie Köhn 28. oktober 2002, og hun holdt også vigslingsgudstjenesten 24. august 2003.
Hadeland Glassverk, ved designer Lena Hansson, har utformet kirkens liturgiske interiør. Glassverkets bidrag består av døpefont, prekestol, vegglamper, og et syv meter høyt alterkors utført i glass og stål, med effektbelysning i fiberoptikk og LED.[1] Pipeorgel fra Norsk Orgelverksted AS, Snertingdal (bygget i 1985), satt inn i kirken i 2020.
Kirkens klokker er støpt ved Olsen Nauen Klokkestøperi.
