Aggregatet i Gjøv står sammen med Åmli-Nidelv kraftverk og utnytter et fall på 54 meter.
Det er installert en kaplanturbin med effekt på 18 MW, og midlere årsproduksjon på 68 GWh.
Kraftverket er et rent elvekraftverk. Produksjonen startet i 1983.
Vannet føres i en 4,1 km lang tunnel fra inntaksmagasinet i elven Gjøv. Etter at vannet er brukt i kraftverket renner det ut i Nidelva.
Verket er et av 15 verk i Arendalsvassdraget.
Kraftverket eies av Å Energi.
