The Jesus and Mary Chain

The Jesus and Mary Chain er ei alternativ rockegruppe frå Glasgow i Skottland. Gruppa blei grunnlagd i 1984, og oppløyst 15 år seinare. Frontfigurane i gruppa var brødreparet Jim og William Reid,[1] og det meste dreidde seg om desse to vokalistane og gitaristane, medan resten av bandet stadig blei bytta ut. The Jesus and Mary Chain oppnådde aldri nokon stor kommersiell suksess, men er ofte rekna som eit svært innverknadsrikt band, til liks med den største inspirasjonskjelda deira, The Velvet Underground.
