«The Clapping Song» er ein amerikansk song skriven av Lincoln Chase og opphavleg arrangert av Charles Callello og spelt inn av Shirley Ellis i 1965. «The Clapping Song» inneheld tekst frå songen «Little Rubber Dolly»,[1] frå 1930-talet, spelt inn av Light Crust Doughboys, og instruksjonar for ein klappeleik.
Songen blei gjeven ut kort tid etter at Shirley Ellis hadde gjeve ut «The Name Game». Han selde over ein million eksemplar, og nådde åttandeplassen på singellista i USA[2] og sjetteplassen i Storbritannia.[3]
Songen vende attende til topplistene i 1982, då versjonen til Belle Stars nådde 11. plass i Storbritannia.[3] Denne versjonen nådde ikkje topplistene i USA, men ein annan versjon av Pia Zadora nådde 36. plassen der i 1983.[4]
