Jean Henri Dunant (fødd 8. mai 1828 i Genève, død 30. oktober 1910 i Heiden)[1]var ein sveitsisk forretningsmann og filantrop. I 1859 blei han augevitne til slaget ved Solferino i Italia. Seinare skildra han kor dårleg saniteten fungerte i skriftet Un souvenir de Solférino, noko som førte til skipinga av den internasjonale Raudekrossen i 1863 og Genèvekonvensjonane året etter.[1]
