Volgens de officiële opgave stemde 99,86% van de stemgerechtigden op de kieslijst van de door de communistische Socialistische Eenheidspartij van Duitsland (Sozialistische Einheitspartei Deutschlands, SED) gedomineerde Nationaal Front (Nationale Front, NF).
