De 55e editie van het Franse grandslamtoernooi, Roland Garros 1956, werd gehouden van dinsdag 15 tot en met zondag 27 mei 1956.^[1] Voor de vrouwen was het de 49e editie. Het toernooi werd gespeeld in het Roland-Garros­stadion in het 16e arrondissement van Parijs.
