"21 Guns" adalah sebuah lagu oleh pancaragam punk rock Amerika Green Day. Ia adalah single kedua dari album studio mereka, 21st Century Breakdown. Single ini telah dikeluarkan melalui Reprise Records pada Mei 25, 2009 sebagai muat bawah digital dan Julai 14, 2009 sebagai sebuah single CP. Lagu ini telah menjadi suatu kejayaan di carta Hot 100 Billboard, memuncak ke #22, yang menjadi single pencartaan tertinggi sejak 2005.

"21 Guns" telah dikeluarkan ke stesen radio rock moden pada Mei 25, 2009, walaupun ia telah dimainkan pada sesetengah stesen radio, seperti KROQ di Los Angeles dan 101.9 di New York City.[1] Dalam terbitan radio, lagu ini adalah empat puluh saat lebih pendek dari versi album kerana solo gitar dipendekkan dan permulaannya dipotong. Single CP dan single 7" telah dikeluarkan pada Julai 14, 2009.
Lagu ini dicirikan di soundtrack pada Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, yang telah dikeluarkan pada Jun 23, 2009.[2] Ia diadakan untuk muat bawah dalam siri permainan video muzik Rock Band pada Julai 7, 2009, bersama dengan lagu "East Jesus Nowhere" dan "Know Your Enemy".[3]

Sebuah video muzik telah diarahkan oleh Marc Webb dan difilemkan di Los Angeles, California pada Jun 6, 2009. Ia diperdanakan di MySpace pada hari Isnin, Jun 22, 2009 di waktu tengah malam EDT.[4][5][6] Sebuah versi lebih pendek juga wujud, yang dimuatkan pada terbitan radio lagu.

The police or army arrive outside the room and open fire through the window. As bullets rain through the room, the band continues playing. Gloria picks up the phone and throws it into a fish tank. As the bullets continue to fly and tear apart the room, Christian and Gloria walk toward each other, unharmed by the bullets. They embrace and kiss, recreating the 21st Century Breakdown cover art. The video may represent the meaning of the song in the 21st Century Breakdown story.
At one point during the video, the words written on the walls of the motel room are revealed for a moment to be the lyrics to Green Day’s song “See The Light”, the last song on 21st Century Breakdown.
Green Day has recorded a version of "21 Guns" with the cast of American Idiot. The recording was produced by Billie Joe Armstrong and was released on December 3rd to Spinner.com and also released for digital download on December 22nd.[7] Video was released Feb 1. [8]
Green Day released two versions of the song with the cast of American Idiot. One version had Billie Joe Armstrong as lead vocals for a brief portion of the song. The other version features John Gallagher Jr.

The song debuted at #55 on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #22 (becoming their highest peaking song since the 2005 hit "Wake Me Up When September Ends"), and #81 on the Canadian Hot 100, reaching #15. It reached #3 on the Alternative Songs chart and #17 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Also, on the Billboard Pop Songs it reached #30. On the Australian ARIA Singles Chart, the song peaked at #14. On the UK Singles Chart, it debuted at #100 and rose to #36. In New Zealand, the song debuted at #23 and peaked at #3 in its seventh week on the chart.[9] It was certified Gold after 13 weeks on the chart, selling over 7,500 copies.[10] It also was certified Platinum in the United States, becoming Green Day's third single to do so.
