Elektroterapi kosmetik ialah rangkaian rawatan kecantikan yang menggunakan arus elektrik yang rendah melalui kulit untuk menghasilkan beberapa kesan terapeutik[2] seperti mengencangkan otot dalam badan dan pengangkatan mikro muka.[3] Ia berdasarkan elektroterapi, yang telah dikaji dan diterima dalam bidang pemulihan,[4] walaupun "komuniti saintifik dan perubatan telah cenderung untuk mengenepikan atau menolak penggunaan elektroterapi untuk otot yang sihat".[5]
Penggunaan elektrik dalam kosmetik kembali ke penghujung abad ke-19,[6][7] hampir seratus tahun selepas Luigi Galvani mendapati bahawa elektrik boleh membuat otot pada kaki katak berkedut[8] (lihat galvanisme). Penyelidikan seterusnya dalam elektrofisiologi telah dijalankan oleh orang seperti Robert O. Becker, Dr Björn Nordenström,[9] bekas pengerusi Jawatankuasa Pemilihan Nobel untuk Perubatan, dan Dr Thomas Wing,[10][11] yang mencipta beberapa peranti arus mikro pertama.
