പ്രശസ്ത എഴുത്തുകാരനും യുക്തിവാദിയുമായിരുന്ന പവനന്റെ ഭാര്യയാണ് പാർവ്വതി പവനൻ.[1] 2007-ൽ ജീവചരിത്രത്തിനും ആത്മകഥയ്ക്കും നൽകുന്ന കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി പുരസ്കാരം നേടിയ പവനപർവ്വം എന്ന ഗ്രന്ഥത്തിന്റെ രചയിതാവാണ് അവർ. [2]
പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലയിലെ ഒറ്റപ്പാലത്ത് ജനിച്ചു. പത്രപ്രവർത്തകനായ സി.പി. രാമചന്ദ്രൻ സഹോദരനാണ് [3]മക്കൾ: സി.പി. രാജേന്ദ്രൻ, സി.പി സുരേന്ദ്രൻ, സി. പി. ശ്രീരേഖ.[4]
