മലേഷ്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയരമുള്ള ഒരു ഹിന്ദുദേവതാ പ്രതിഷ്ഠയാണ് ശ്രീ സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യ വിഗ്രഹം (തമിഴ്: முருகன் சிலை; മലയ് ഭാഷ: Tugu Dewa Muruga),[1] ഇന്തോനേഷ്യയിലെ ഗരുഡ വിഷ്ണു കെങ്കാന, നേപ്പാൾ കൈലാസനാഥ മഹാദേവ പ്രതിമ എന്നിവയ്ക്കുശേഷം ലോകത്തിലെ മൂന്നാമത്തെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയരമുള്ള ഹിന്ദു വിഗ്രഹമാണിത്. ഇതിന് 42.7 മീറ്റർ ഉയരമുണ്ട്. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ തമിഴ്നാട് സംസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ നിന്നും ശ്രീലങ്കയിൽ നിന്നും കുടിയേറിയ മലേഷ്യൻ തമിഴരാണ് ശ്രീ സുബ്രഹ്മണ്യ വിഗ്രഹം നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന്റെ അധികാരം തമിഴ് പിൻഗാമികളിലാണ്. എല്ലാ വർഷവും തമിഴ്നാട്, ശ്രീലങ്ക എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് ഭക്തർ തമിഴ് കലണ്ടർ അനുസരിച്ച് തൈപ്പൂയം ദിനത്തിൽ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം സന്ദർശിക്കുന്നു. ബാത്തു ഗുഹകളുടെ താഴെയുള്ള ശ്രീ മുരുകൻ പെരുമാൾ കോവിലിലാണ് ഇത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. [4] 3 വർഷത്തെ നിർമ്മാണമെടുത്ത് 2006 ജനുവരിയിൽ തൈപ്പൂയം ഉത്സവ വേളയിൽ അനാച്ഛാദനം ചെയ്തു.
