പ്രധാനമായും എണ്ണ സമ്പന്നമായ വിത്തിന് വേണ്ടി കൃഷി ചെയ്യുന്ന ബ്രാസിക്കേസി കുടുംബത്തിലെ (കടുക് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ കാബേജ് കുടുംബം) തിളക്കമുള്ള മഞ്ഞ നിറത്തിലുള്ള പൂച്ചെടിയാണ് റാപ്സീഡ്. ഇതിൽ സ്വാഭാവികമായും ഗണ്യമായ അളവിൽ വിഷമയമായ യൂറസിക് ആസിഡ് അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു. റേപ്സീഡ് കൃഷിയിനങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു കൂട്ടമാണ് കനോള. ഇവ വളരെ കുറഞ്ഞ അളവിൽ യൂറിസിക് ആസിഡ് ഉള്ളവയാണ്. മാത്രമല്ല ഇത് മനുഷ്യർക്കും മൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും വേണ്ടിയുള്ള ഭക്ഷണത്തിനായി ഉപയോഗിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. സസ്യ എണ്ണയുടെ മൂന്നാമത്തെ വലിയ ഉറവിടവും ലോകത്തിലെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ വലിയ പ്രോട്ടീൻ ഭക്ഷണവുമാണ് റേപ്സീഡ്.
