Dzelzceļa stacija Auce (vācu: Autz) atklāta 1873. gadā uz dzelzceļa līnijas Rīga—Jelgava—Mažeiķi. 1889. gadā Vecauces muižas īpašnieks grāfs Mēdems sāka pārdot apbūves gabalus, un stacijas tuvuma dēļ tie bija ļoti pieprasīti. Šādi izveidojās Auces pilsētiņa, kas pārņēma dzelzceļa stacijas nosaukumu.[1] Vācu okupācijas laikā 1917. — 1918. gadā dzelzceļa staciju pārdēvēja par Vecauci (Alt Autz). 1997. gada 21. jūlijā staciju slēdza un pārveidoja par pieturas punktu.[2] Pasažieru vilcieni šeit kursēja līdz 2010. gada 22. februārim.
