Išhara – deivė Mesopotamijos mitologijoje, taip pat garbinta huritų bei hetitų. Minima Gilgamešo bei Atrahasio epuose. Pagal vieną iš tradicijų, jos vyras buvęs dievas Dagonas. Aptiktas ritualo aprašymas, kuriame ji įvardijama Sebittu (septyneto dievų) motina.[1]
Išharos kilmė nėra iki galo aiški, nežinoma ir vardo reikšmė. Kartais manoma, kad tai semitiškos kilmės dievybė, kurios kultas pietinės Mesopotamijos regione paplito iš Eufrato vidurupio regiono.[1] Kitur tvirtinama, kad tai ikisemitiškos kilmės deivė. Vėliau ši deivė pateko į huritų panteoną.[2][3][4] Iš pastarųjų Išharą perėmė hetitai, jos svarbiausia šventvietė buvo Kizuvatnoje.[5]
Žinios apie Išharos kultą siekia III tūkst. pr. m. e. Ankstyviausi įrašai, minintys Išharą, aptikti Ebloje. Trečiosios Ūro dinastijos laikais šios dievybės šventykla buvo Dreheme, o nuo Senosios Babilonijos karalystės laikų – Sipare, Larsoje ir Harbidume. Didelę svarbą Išharos kultas turėjo ir Maryje.[5]
Ši dievybė turėjusi įvairių funkcijų. Išhara buvo laikoma meilės deive ir tapatinama su Ištare (Inana). Abiejų dievybių epitetas buvo belet rame („meilės deivė“). Taip pat turėjusi karo dievybės bruožų, buvo siejama su būrimu pagal paaukotų gyvūnų vidurius. Manoma, jog kai kada atlikusi ir Deivės Motinos vaidmenį. Dievybė tokiu pat vardu buvo garbinama ir huritų (pietryčių Anatolijoje bei šiaurės Sirijoje), kurie ją siejo su požemio pasauliu.[1] Šiame regione buvo garbinama Alalache (drauge su Tešubu ir Šimiga), Ugarite, Emare bei Čagar Bazare. Hetitai šios deivės užkalbėjimuose šaukdavosi, norėdami sukelti ligas, nubausti priesaikos laužytojus. Teigiama, kad taip buvo apkerėta karaliaus Muršilišo II šeima. Gydymo tikslais į Išharą buvo kreipiamasi rečiau.[5]
Pradžioje Išharos šventasis gyvūnas buvo gyvatė bašmu, o nuo vėlyvojo Kasitų dinastijos laikotarpio – skorpionas. Buvo sutapatinta su Skorpiono žvaigždynu.[1]
