Tiryns[1] (Graece Τίρυνς) fuit urbs antiqua Graeciae in Argolide, non longe ab urbe Argis in nomo hodierno Argolidis sita. Homerus eam Τίρυνθα τειχιόεσσαν, "Tiryntha muratam", appellat.[2] Etenim ruinae murorum "Cyclopeorum" tempore Pausaniae secundo saeculo adhuc conspicua erant cum iamdiu (inter 479 et 460 a.C.n.) urbs ab Argivis deleta esset et eius incolae ad urbes vicinas augendas transvecti[3].
