Târgu Ocna (Hungarice Aknavásár) est Romaniae oppidum in circulo Bacău situm. Ad oppidum etiam vici Poieni et Vâlcele pertinent.

Târgu Ocna ex vicis diversis coniunctum est, quorum antiquissimus Stoenești anno 1401 primo in actis descriptum est. Anno 1599 primo nomen Ocna descriptum est, quod salinas significat. A saeculo 18 ineunte hic nundinae habebantur et vicus idcirco nunc Târgu Ocna nominabatur. Anno 1774 titulum oppidi accepit. Tum hic sal effodebatur, postea et viatores fontibus salsis salutaribus utebantur. Ab anno 1854 Ocnae aquae salutaribus officialiter probatae sunt. Inter Primum Bellum Mundanum Ocna partim deletum est[1]. Tempore regiminis Communistarum hic carcer fuit, in quo captivi propter sententias eorum vexati sunt. Hodie hic petroleum et lignum producta sunt.
Anno 2011 hic 11.300 homines vixerunt, inter eos 10.282 Dacoromani, 166 Zingari atque 16 Hungarici[2].
