Sagum[1] (de Malaico sagu 'palma sagi'; vulgo: sago) est faeculae (impensum granulare et amulosum quod in re coquinaria usurpatur) genus, tapiocae simile, et in eundem finem adhibitum.
Sagum est medulla in caulibus aliquarum plantae speciei Metroxyli sagu reposita, quae ut farina fiat obtrita, diligenturque (ut venena innata educantur) elota, siccatur, et coquitur. Praesertim in partibus Novae Guineae et in Moluccis insulis comeditur.
Sagum, vapore coctum, potest quasi bellaria adhiberi, concisa et contrita quasi amulum vel farina.
