Rigveda[1] (scriptura devanagari ऋग्वेदः Ṛgvedaḥ) est ecloga antiquissima carminum lingua Sanscrita compositorum. Vocabulum ṛgvedaḥ dicit 'cognitio laudis'. Plus quam mille carmina insunt quae de deis, herois, soma tractant. Deus maxime laudatus est Indra; Varuna quoque est magni moment. Dei Hinduismi ut Sivus vel Krishna rarissime aut numquam in Rigveda nominantur.
